Vigilance

The Vigilance activities of the Department of Fertilizers extend not only to the Department but also to that of 9 Public Sector Undertakings and Joint Ventures under the D/o Fertilizers. The departmental vigilance set up is headed by a Joint Secretary who is designated as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Department. The CVO of the Department is assisted by a Director, Under Secretary, Section Officer and other vigilance staff. The Department supervises the vigilance activities within the framework provided by the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC). The Department plays a pro-active role in ensuring the prompt disposal of vigilance cases and in framing preventive guidelines. This helps in minimizing the occurrence of vigilance cases. Efforts are made by the Department to simplify the procedure in the PSUs to make them work in a transparent manner. This reduces the chances of corruption.
