Imports of urea on Government account are made to bridge the gap between the indigenous availability and requirement through designated canalising agencies like MMTC Ltd., State Trading Corporation (STC) and Indian Potash Ltd. (IPL). The other major fertilizers like DAP and MOP are freely importable on private trade account.
